We anticipated a surge in rig and ship recycling by the end of 2020 being driven by new legislation requiring scrubbers and water ballast treatment plants in ships. This happened and was magnified by Covid advancing cruise ship recycling. We have been working with several ethical ship recycling yards in Turkey and South America. if required we can buy your vessel/rig, recycle it and provide a full audit report thus protecting the ship owners reputation.

Ships built before June 2002 can have asbestos materials in their systems, but there has to be an asbestos register and management plan in place. Ships with asbestos built after 2002 also have to have a management plan but it has to be removed within 3 years of being found on board. MHMS has performed 2 large projects in 2020 involving the replacement of over 6000 flange gaskets on two cruise ships.
